I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church!
– by Paul Nixon
During a time of need to re-vision in my congregation, I used Nixon’s book as a study for my session. The deep insight of this book is that we choose our future as congregations. This is in contrast to the idea that is far too broad–that things just happen and we end up where we are. Rather, Nixon invites congregations to choose their future. Choose life over death, choose community over isolation, choose fun over drudgery, choose bold over mild, choose frontier over fortress, choose now rather than later–these are Nixon’s challenges for churches that choose life.
