Facing Decline, Finding Hope: New Possibilities for Faithful Communities

In the church we have decided that the church that is successful is the church that has a bright future in attendance, membership, and receipts. This book challenges that. It acknowledges that there are those congregations (many, many of them) that will not survive in terms of numbers. Yet, this reality does not mean that there is no hope. What if we look at the next decade or two not in terms of the death of congregations, but what those congregations can be and do in the time (even limited time) that they exist. Such communities of faith can be communities of vibrant faith and hope in the place where they are.
